The 5 Wines You Need on Hand

Five wines to have on hand any day of the week for casual sipping. With the guidance of experts like André Hueston Mack from Bon Appétit, acclaimed sommelier and wine enthusiast, we've curated a selection of five exceptional wines that belong in any average Joe's rotation. From the effervescent allure of Prosecco to the robust punch of Syrah, these wines are tried and true.

  1. IL FOLLO Prosecco: This Prosecco from IL FOLLO captures the essence of Italian elegance with its lively bubbles and crisp, refreshing taste. This is a dry Prosecco and one of my favourites. Sourced from the Veneto region, this sparkling wine offers delicate notes of green apple, pear, and citrus, making it the perfect choice for celebrations or casual sipping alike.

  2. Tomato Wheels Lambrusco: Naturally, this Lambrusco is a favourite—harvested from the hills of Emilia-Romagna it is a true and traditional expression of Italian sparkling red. Bursting with flavors cold blueberry, lavender and Crème fraîche, Tomato Wheels Lambrusco is a versatile wine that pairs well with basically, everything.

  3. Punch you in the Face Shiraz: Brace yourself for an intense flavor experience with Punch ya in the Face Shiraz. Hailing from Australia, this bold red wine lives up to its name with its rich, full-bodied profile and robust fruit flavors. Notes of blackberry, plum, and spice dominate the palate, leaving a lasting impression that is both powerful and satisfying. Pair it with a steak for a knockout dining experience, truuuuust me.

  4. Kirkland Pinot Grigio: For a refreshing white wine option, look no further than Kirkland Pinot Grigio. Sourced from the Veneto region of Italy, this crisp and clean wine offers flavors of citrus, pear, and green apple, with a hint of floral notes on the finish. Whether enjoyed on its own or paired with light seafood dishes or salads, Kirkland Pinot Grigio actually hits perfectly for a Pinot at a very affordable price point. One of my favs!

  5. Gigondas Kirkland: Transport yourself to the picturesque vineyards of Gigondas with this exceptional wine from Kirkland. Crafted in the Rhône Valley of France, Gigondas Kirkland is a bold and expressive red wine with layers of dark fruit, spice, and earthy undertones. André Hueston Mack's endorsement confirms its status as a standout wine, at a stand out price point, worthy of a place in your rotation. Pair it with hearty stews, grilled meats, or aged cheeses for a truly indulgent experience.

These five wines offer a curated selection of exceptional quality and taste. From the effervescence of Prosecco to the boldness of Shiraz, each wine brings its own unique personality to the table, promising a memorable drinking experience.  Remember wine is subjective, so keep tasting, find what you like and keep it casual, ya?
